Educated：独立成人

整整一年前的今天，2019 年 12 月 30 日，我第一次看到新冠的消息。当时离金银潭医院收治第一位感染的病人已经过去了近一个月，已有实验室测序发现是类似 SARS 的新型冠状病毒（注 1）。此时离官方确认人际传播还有 21 天，离武汉封城还有 24 天。

AI 系统的偏见（bias）和 accountability

借用奥巴马的一句话，AI 研究者们不应该 "over-promise and under-deliver", 有一个效果很好的人脸补全系统是件很棒的事，但也该同时承认，这个系统存在偏见，对不同肤色的头像有不同的表现。只有当这种谨慎变成常识，AI 系统才能从 cool, fun, nice-to-have 的玩具变成有现实意义的工具。
